The well-known route 'La Via dell'Acqua' in the village of Cison di Valmarino (TV) winds for three kilometres, at the foot of the Treviso Pre-Alps in the heart of the Conegliano and Valdobbiadene Hills, recently recognised as a Unesco heritage site, and for years has been telling the artisan history of mills, hammers, sawmills, dairies and silk factories.

LABORATORIES

Filled felt
Getting to know wool through observation and manipulation. We will observe wool under the microscope, learn how it has been processed over the millennia and try carding and felting it.
The Zater Mill
Travel, barter and pastimes of ancient traders. The Middle Ages witnessed a continuous exchange of resources and goods that also moved by river on rafts. We will build a game to remember the movements of these ancient merchants.
The ollae of Rolle
Between the 1300s and 1800s, thousands of terracottas were produced in the village of Rolle. Vases, pots, pans were used for cooking and containing drinks. We will make a clay pot to learn about the history of this ancient production.
