“Allegoria di una città” weaves together symbolism and local identity through the incised mark. At the centre of the composition, a two-faced figure, an emblem of the many stories that inhabit a place, holds in its hands the visual synthesis of the city itself; beside it, a swan evokes the waters that flow through the area and the mythological roots that pervade its imagination. From the animal’s beak hangs a key, a symbolic threshold between representation and reality. The city’s heraldic emblem watches from above, sealing the deep bond between art and belonging. The work springs from an experience lived from within: inhabiting the city allowed the artist to transform the everyday into vision, in a process where the place is not merely the subject but the silent co-author of the work.
